Thriving Congregations is an initiative of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University (STVU), structured to help congregations enhance the total worship experience. Participating churches will develop strategies to help people strengthen their relationships with God, improve relationships with each other, and become more active in their local communities.
What We Do
Thriving Congregations is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The Thriving Congregations initiative exists to help congregations, and their lay and clergy leaders remove obstacles to their congregation's thriving so they can more effectively minister to the needs of their congregation and community. We ensure our partners are empowered by creating opportunities for individuals and communities.
Who We Are
Thriving Congregations knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. We realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Thriving Congregations.
